Mateen has been advocating for the rights of personal injury victims since 2001, successfully concluding thousands of claims. Her seven years of experience as an Accident Benefits Paralegal confirmed her longstanding desire to attend law school and further advance her legal career.
In addition to her significant work experience, her undergraduate studies in Psychology further trained her to approach problems with flexibility and creativity and to communicate effectively with people from different cultural and educational backgrounds.
Mateen received her Juris Doctor degree from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2011 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2012. Prior to starting her own firm, she worked for two prominent plaintiff personal injury law firms in Toronto.
Mateen’s practice is exclusively focused on personal injury litigation on behalf of injured plaintiffs, as well as pursuing claims for long-term and short-term disability benefits, Canada Pension Plan disability benefits, and Statutory Accident Benefits. She has experience with private and mandatory mediations, disputes before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the License Appeal Tribunal, the Canada Pension Plan Review Tribunal, and litigation in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.

Sam Pitaro did his undergraduate studies at York University. After only two years he was admitted to Osgoode Hall Law School. He received his law degree from Osgoode Hall in 1994. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1996.
Since 1996, Sam has practiced exclusively in the field of personal injury representing injured plaintiffs. He has handled and successfully resolved thousands of cases involving death and all types of serious personal injury including brain injury, paralysis, fractures and other orthopedic injuries, chronic pain syndrome and psychological and psychiatric disability.
In his counsel relationship with Pourgol Law, he is available for trial consultation and, in some cases, for the conduct of the trial in association with Mateen Pourgol.
